What is organic cotton?

Organic (or biologic) cotton is the alternative to traditional cotton and is the result of crops treated essentially with organic fertilizers that have a very reduced overall impact on the environment compared to normal traditional crops, thus eliminating pesticides, toxic fertilizers and persistent chemicals.

Intensive agriculture is also avoided and a natural crop rotation regime is encouraged.

Finally, workers are protected and a fair trade system is promoted.
